OUR PARTNERS
Creating a More Walkable & Dynamic Community
Upgrades are coming to Bankers Hill! We are excited to be taking steps to create a more walkable and dynamic neighborhood, complete with newly dedicated bike lanes for safer mobility, flashing crosswalks, curb pop outs, trash receptacles, solar lighting, and additional parking spaces.
More than $1.1 million in reinvested revenue from local parking meters is being utilized to create a better Bankers Hill for our local businesses, residents and visitors alike.
Just recently, we announced the addition of approximately 120 new parking spaces in the Bankers Hill neighborhood alone.

These spaces are the direct result of a collaborative effort between the Uptown Community Parking District staff, the City of San Diego, and SANDAG, and represent a multi-phase effort of a neighborhood wide review to maximize on-street parking inventory in Bankers Hill.

About Bankers Hill
Bankers Hill is an old San Diego neighborhood tucked between Balboa Park on the east, downtown to the south, and Hillcrest to the north. This condensed, urbanized area of San Diego is filled with historical Spanish Style and Victorian architecture from the late 19th and early 20th century.
As an older neighborhood that was designed before the proliferation of automobiles, Bankers Hill has many unique parking needs.
That’s why the Bankers Hill Neighborhood Parking Committee, who created GoBankersHill.com, is dedicated to working with community partners to help balance resident and business needs, and create a unique, multi-modal neighborhood that will serve as a model for San Diego as it advances into the next century.
